Nečetl jsem to, takže nevím... pokud ale hovoříme o skutečně funkčním SSTO se schopností vynést nahoru alespoň pár set kilogramů nebo tun, mluvíme i o schopnosti té lodi přistát zpátky na Zemi?

Next step will be doing orbital velocity Ship flights, which will need all of the above. Worth noting that BFS is capable of reaching orbit by itself with low payload, but having the BF Booster increases payload by more than an order of magnitude. Earth is the wrong planet for single stage to orbit. No problemo on Mars.

Tazko povedat(kedze som presne nepochopil " Ship flights, which will need all of the above" - znamena to iba ship, bez boostera?), ale je mozne ze sa dockame testov podobnych Delta 4 heavy s orionom alebo GSLV mk3 s maketou indickej lode kedy bude sklon trajektorie zvoleny tak aby simulovala navrat z LEO len s pomocou druheho stupna.
Ale rad by som si pozrel simulacie ci je schopna ako SSTO RTLS z LEO .

Work will be performed at NASA Stennis Space Center, Mississippi; Hawthorne, California; McGregor, Texas; and Los Angeles Air Force Base, California; and is expected to be complete by April 30, 2018. Fiscal 2017 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $40,766,512 are being obligated at the time of award. The Launch Systems Enterprise Directorate, Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles AFB, California, is the contracting activity (FA8811-16-9-0001).


Jde o 7. modifikaci tohoto kontraktu. Přesné množství prostředků, které DoD do vývoje Raptoru vloží, mi zatím není jasné. Po modifikaci kontraktu č.6 to vypadalo následovně, takže možná vojáci dají 95,05 + 40,76 = 135,81 M$.

EELV program stale nejak dycha ? Bral jsem ho jako ukonceny vyvojem Atlasu/Delty

Pod EELV čiastočne patrí aj systém Falcon 9 pokiaľ viem

Premyslim, jak slozite bude prekopat F9 na pouziti metaloxovych Raptoru... kdyz uz se od zacatku pocitalo (podle zadani kontraktu od letectva) s druhym stupnem a tedy i upravami na rampe atd? 4 motory a prodlouzena izolovana nadrz? Tech uprav zase tolik nebude, aby to nestalo za uvahu, BFR je daleko. Otazka je jak se dlouhodobe vyplati vyrabet/provozovat 4 Raptory namisto 9 Merlinu.

Vlastne expendable by mohl letat i se dvema motory, jestli dobre pocitam
