Sonda GOCE je už jen 170 km nad Zemí a během dneška by měla klesnout o dalších 8 kilometrů!

Zdá se, že k tomu dojde mezi dnešní 19:30 až zítřejší jednou hodinou SEČ plus mínus dva oblety a vědci vylučují pád na evropu, tak asi zase nic.

Teď jsem se dočetl, že údajně dojde k zániku nad Pacifikem, ale mění se to tedy slušně rychle...

Tak ta mapka s aktuální polohou už nefunguje. Ale nikde jsem nedohledal jestli už skutečně "spadla" a kde se to případně stalo.

GOCE vstoupil již do atmosféry, jeho fragmenty spadly poté do oceánu.

Podle ESA, byl poslední kontakt se sondou zaznamenán 10. listopadu v 22:42 UTC (23:42 SEČ) nad Antarktidou.

ESA’s GOCE satellite has reentered Earth’s atmosphere, with most of the spacecraft disintegrating high in the atmosphere. There have been no reports of damage to property or sightings of debris. Astrophysicist and satellite watcher Jonathan McDowell reported that the spacecraft came down at approximately 00:16 UTC on November 11, 2013 over the South Atlantic Ocean east of Tierra del Fuego – an archipelago off the southernmost tip of the South America.

ESA:
Close to 01:00 CET on Monday 11 November, ESA’s GOCE satellite reentered Earth’s atmosphere on a descending orbit pass that extended across Siberia, the western Pacific Ocean, the eastern Indian Ocean and Antarctica. As expected, the satellite disintegrated in the high atmosphere and no damage to property has been reported.
